The geometric significance of the irrationality of the square root of 2 is that no line segment, no matter how small, can be used to "construct" ( by copying and pasting clones of it together) both the sides and the diagonal of a square.
In other news, I finally just settled on writing a list into a text file and then evaluating that string as a python statement....so much unneccesary complexity trying to get stupid libraries involved...wasted two frikkin' days more or less...Now I'm confronted with not being sure exactly how I should design the script. I could keep some global variables in the python script and slightly reduce the complexity or move everything over to the matlab script, but then I'll have to add indices to handle variable numbers of things like clips, indices, etc.. I'll have to ask the proff sometime... not sure when though, might not see him till next next monday, or maybe this friday? On one hand I think I know what he might say, on the other, I'm not sure if that's the best design decision.
